The main event on Monday, May 20, 2019, in Forum Karlín will be composed of the Innovation Fair and International Conference with Seminars. You may look forward to top speakers, top innovations and a great atmosphere! With this year's Innovation Week you can witness the creation of a new universe of innovations.

Become part of this new world where innovations make work easier and create a new space of greater happiness and prosperity. This Innovation Week will present individuals and companies that jointly form this new universe with their innovations while preserving the needs of our planet. One of the main topics of this year's event is the circular economy as a unique space for innovative thinking while maintaining sustainability.

Innovation Week Czech Republic 2019 is organized by the Prague-based European Leadership & Academic Institute (ELAI). Lukáš Sedláček, the director of ELAI, came up with the idea to have an Innovation Week with the goal of creating and supporting a working ecosystem of innovations in the Czech Republic. He and his team have prepared the best programme, presenting innovations from the Czech Republic and abroad.

The Innovation Week Czech Republic 2019 will be held under the auspices of the President of the Chamber of Commerce Czech Republic, Vladimír Dlouhý; the President of the Confederation of Industry Czech Republic , Jaroslav Hanák; the Rector of the Czech Technical University in Prague v Praze, Vojtěch Petráček; the President of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Eva Zažímalová; and the Prague City Council Member, Vít Šimral.

Physicist, called “The New Einstein” by Harvard University

Sabrina was called the “new Einstein” by Harvard University. At the age of 12, she started to build her own kit aircraft. Four years later she flew in that kit aircraft across Sugar Grove and Aurora lakes. At the age of 19, she graduated #1 at MIT Physics with a 5.0 GPA, the highest possible score. She is currently a doctoral student at Harvard University. She will obtain her degree in May and then start up at Princeton in September.

Her focus is black holes, spacetime and gravitation within the context of quantum mechanics. She has received job offers from Jeff Bezos, NASA and Blue Origin.

Her findings were cited by Stephen Hawking. She was named a Forbes 30 under 30 All Star in 2017 and one of the 100 greatest scientists of our time by the Albert Einstein Foundation Genius 100 Visions Project.

Tomáš Mikolov is a research scientist at Facebook AI Research. He was recruited directly by Mark Zuckerberg. He previously worked at Microsoft and at Google on the Google Brain team. During his time at Google, he improved Google translator, which is able to translate the meaning of entire sentences, not just short phrases.

Tomáš is focused on word representation in vector space, specifically speech recognition, automatic translations and internet searching. He is a laureate of the Neuron prize for significant scientific discovery.

The girl who built a microplastic-detecting robot to save the ocean

At the age of 12, Anna Du created an underwater device that uses infrared light to detect harmful microplastics in the ocean.

While walking in Boston Harbor she tried to pick the plastic out of the sand, but she realised that it was not possible for one person to collect all the garbage. She decided to construct a device which would be able to clean all the waste. Anna’s work is admired by many eminent scholars, such as Casey Machado and Dana Yoerger.

Anna was one of the 10 finalists of the Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge in 2018 and one of 30 Broadcom MASTERS finalists. In order to make further progress on her device, she has been awarded a grant. She is currently working on that together with top scientists.

It is predicted that in 2050 more plastic than fish will be in the ocean.

This pair of scientists has come up with a revolutionary idea. They invented a polymer derived from microorganisms that feed on seaweed. The polymer is biodegradable and recycles into organic waste. In order to create such a polymer no arable land or potable water is needed.

Michael Londesborough is a researcher at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences. He used to work as a consultant for SemEquip, Inc. In 2015 he published his unique discovery: the first Borane Laser. This new type of laser brings a diverse range of benefits, such as reducing costs, operational risks and environmental impact. Besides the Czech Academy of Sciences, he also runs science communication programmes with the British Council. He is the author of more than 45 academic articles, the co-author of 2 publications and the owner of an international patent. He is a winner of the Best Young Chemist contest, the winner of the Cryptur prize and a laureate of the Vojtěch Náprstek Honorary Medal for Merit in Science Popularisation. He has a PhD from the University of Leeds.

Andrius Adamonis is a blockchain specialist and the head of the LBChain project at the Bank of Lithuania, where he is also responsible for artificial intelligence and innovation.

Andrius is a member of the EU Blockchain Observatory and Forum working group that helps the emerging European ecosystem in the field of blockchain and DLT.

Since October 2018, Andrius has been in a PhD program at Vilnius University, where he has been developing his blockchain research, specifically focusing on interoperability between blockchains. In addition, he provides consultations on new blockchain projects.
